ABOUT SHANA GINSBURG, ESQ.

Ginsburg Legal Services was founded in 2017 with a single mission: to be the most cost-effective legal consulting firm in Maryland.  

 

An experienced education and general liability attorney,  founder Shana R. Ginsburg, Esq. has litigated over sixty cases in Maryland state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate level.   

Ms. Ginsburg is a graduate of Duke University (B.A. English; Public Policy). She began her career as an American Literature teacher in Augusta, Georgia before attending University of Maryland Carey School of Law to study juvenile and trial advocacy. After two judicial clerkships in the Prince George’s County Circuit Court, Ms. Ginsburg became a certified Best Interest Attorney for children before serving as senior counsel (2012-2014) and Associate General Counsel (2014-2015) for Prince George’s County Public Schools.

Ms. Ginsburg lectures at Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies on legal education and provides school-wide trainings  on legal and administrative regulations for reporting child abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassment. She is the Founder and President of Ginsburg Advanced Tutoring, LLC.

  • Doe v. Bd. of Educ. of Prince George’s Cnty., 982 F. Supp. 2d 641, 647 (D. Md. 2013) aff’d, No. 13-2537, 2015 WL 1529852 (4th Cir. Apr. 7, 2015) (Failure to follow sexual harassment grievance procedures does not prove deliberate indifference under Title IX; Title IX plaintiffs lack the right to make particular remedial demands)
  • Davis v. Bd. of Educ. of Prince George’s Cnty., aff’d, No. 14-8 (Md. Ct. Spec. App. 2015) ($90 million verdict against Board remitted to the Board’s self-insurance cap upon evidentiary hearing regarding self-insurance)
  • Krpan v. Bd. of Educ. of Prince George’s Cnty., aff’d, No. 12-1228 (Md. Ct. Spec. App. 2015) (Deaf teacher failed to prove classroom management problems were pretext for discriminatory dismissal)

 

Ms. Ginsburg is admitted to the bar of Maryland, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
